Precision Welding for Ultra-Thin Stainless Steel Tubes

In January 2026, SFX Laser-LYXCTECH received a request from a Thai customer to weld stainless steel tubes (Ø3 mm, wall thickness 0.2 mm), requiring clean weld appearance, high strength, and airtight sealing.

Challenge
Thin-wall material is highly prone to burn-through, making it difficult to balance appearance, strength, and sealing performance.

Solution
Led by Yang Zhipeng, the engineering team developed a solution using:

Platform welding + rotary axis
Optimized optical setup and laser parameters for precise energy control
The standard DLW-2000A successfully completed sample welding, fully meeting customer requirements.

Upgrade Requirement
After validation, the customer introduced new specifications. While the existing system could weld, efficiency and performance were not optimal.

Custom Development
SFX Laser quickly initiated a customized solution with:
0.1–1 mm material compatibility
Multi-axis welding capability (cylindrical & flat parts)
Dedicated fixturing for precise positioning

Result
The custom machine was completed in February 2026 and validated through multiple tests:
Stable and high-quality welds
Excellent strength and sealing performance
Fully approved by the customer after inspection
